We have an immediate need for an experienced level 2 Application Support Engineer to join our expanding team.

This is a key support role requiring strong technical and communications skills. You will be responsible for the uptime, performance, incident management and tracking of system defects for a global SaaS based product serving customers around the globe. The role will involve collaborating with a team of business analysts, developers and customer care teams. This is a hands-on role that requires a sense of urgency and a candidate willing to take on responsibility for the delivery of a world class service to our customers. The role provides visibility to all our products and underlying infrastructure.

Responsibilities

-Maintain system uptime and performance
-Actively monitor, log and respond to production application incidents
-Help reduce the team’s average MTTR time by following strict ITIL Incident Management frameworks
-Drive Incident and Problem ticket root cause analysis and resolutions.
-Have a clear understanding of network, database management and operating systems.
-Collect and document stats on application performance, problems and failures
-Communicate with Customer Care Representatives, Field Installation Technicians and Field Sales on resolving escalated technical problems and issues
-Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the team manager

What we’re looking for...

Essential Skills & Experience

-2-4 years in an Application or Development Support Role - Degree in Computer Science / IT
-Familiar with Windows server environments, Windows and native Services, Console Services, Event Logging, and Viewers
-Application and knowledge with SQL DB programming, querying techniques, and tools
-Familiarity with Application monitoring tools; AppDynamics, OpManager and NewRelic, a plus.
-Application of basic principles, methods, technologies and practices in Software/Networking Engineering and -Application Support
-Cross-Browser Debugging Skills
-Adheres to Lean, Agile and ITIL best practices
-PowerShell or similar scripting experience is a plus
-Core Behavioural Attributes
-Must have excellent communication skills to deal with developers and customer care teams

Assists two or more Project Managers in a matrix team environment on small to large project initiatives, with responsibility to the IT PMO; assists IT PMO, Project Mangers, sponsors, and stakeholders with requirements to define and identify the scope of the project and throughout the entire project lifecycle. Acts as the primary contact for organizational updates for capturing time and reporting.

Project
Third Party Integration (TPI) – To provide a single sign-on connection for third party vendors to integrate into the employee portal.

Responsibilities & Duties
• Serves as the initial point of contact for all project request and provides user support and administration to IT Project Management team, Contractors, and users of the project management information system tool Clarity.
• Participates in kick off meetings, communicates individual roles and expectations, and ensures all project team members have the tools and training to perform effectively.
• Communicates project creation completion to all parties in a timely manner
• Assists in conducting formal reviews; monitors project milestones, technical status, and critical dates to identify potential problems with project schedule; tracks client satisfaction levels; identifies ways to resolve schedule issues and keeps management aware of situations
• Assists in the development and ensures compliance of policies/procedures for the PMO, project sponsors, and all other stakeholders; assists in establishing guidelines to ensure adherence to policies/procedures by all stakeholders
• Assists in meeting with project sponsors to provide updates, acquire business decisions, and validate scope and direction; conducts formal reviews with business sponsors at the project's completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction
• Ensures that all changes in the processes/procedures are documented and communicated to project sponsors and other affected departments before implementation
• Assists in maintaining all records related to projects, such as scope change control documentation, cost-change control documentation, and revised requirement documents (essentially all documents throughout the life of the project)
• Develops and maintains productive working relationships with project sponsors, vendors, and key clients
• Serves as the initial point of contact for all project request and provides user support and administration to IT Project Management team, Contractors, and users of the project management information system tool Clarity
• Participates on cross-functional teams on projects that focus on Clarity administration

Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and five to seven years of relevant professional, technical, and business work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least three years of demonstrated experience, including but not limited to serving as a project team member, developing PIRs, requirements documents, assisting in evaluating project control plans, and experience using a project information system tool (i.e. Clarity), etc.
• Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.

Job Knowledge & Skills
• Solid understanding of business operations, requirements processes, business modeling concepts, and software development methodologies
• Working knowledge of the insurance industry preferred
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management, quality management, and change management
